Mary McLaren Photography is a home business based in Wynnum, a bayside suburb of Brisbane. I am a certified professional photographer, and a fulltime mum (is there any other kind?). I take black and white photographs using only natural light to create classical and lasting images of childhood. I am also keen to get more involved in photographing expectant mums as I feel that pregnancy is a wonderful and transforming experience not to be forgotten. |
The price for a photo session is $50 in the Eastern suburbs, $60 in the Western suburbs or North side. The session lasts about one hour, and includes a proof sheet of all photos taken and one eight inch by ten inch print of your choice. This session is suitable for one child including photos with both parents. I am happy to take a few shots with siblings but if you would like individual photos of more than one child, as well as with the family then the session price will be slightly higher to cover more film. After that you are free to purchase as many prints as you like at the following prices: 12" x 16" $45 10" x 8" $25 5" x 7" $15 3.5" x 5.5" $10 Incentives are also offered for large orders. |
I require all clients to give Mary McLaren Photography the copyright of all photographs taken as a condition of my service. This means that I have the right to use these images for self promotion. It also means that you cannot make copies of any prints you purchase without the permission of Mary McLaren Photography. |
Generally I photograph children in their environment which means that newborns will be on a bed, in a cradle or in loving arms. Crawlers are captured moving along the floor or exploring the grass. Toddlers are usually photographed outside where there is more natural light to freeze them in their unending movement. To photograph a baby in your home I will need a quiet, uncluttered room with good natural light. This does not mean direct sunlight, just a reasonably bright room with unbroken light (eg. no bars on the windows please). I will bring several backdrops but I may make use of your pillows. If you prefer you may provide a special blanket or toy to be included. If your child is older or you would just like outdoor photos, I will need a small area of even shade without distractions in the background.. It is possible to shoot in sunlight with older children but they may find it too bright. If you feel that your home does not fit this criteria or has too many distractions, I may be able to accomodate you at my home in Wynnum or a location such as a park or beach. |
